Mentawai island is a part of the province of West Sumatra which has the potential of natural forests, rivers, swamps, and sea with various tribes who lived. Four islands that make up the Mentawai Islands District consists of:
- Siberut island
- Sipora Island
- North and South Pagai
Mentawai Islands regency is also called by the name of the Land of Sikerei, taking the name of the local tribes that can cure the sick people by calling the spirits.
